Saturday (March 29th) was an exciting day for music down at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Arena.
Those who attended were treated to some excellent performances at both the Young & Hungry Showcase (sponsored by the Georgian Bay Folk Society, Knox Acoustic Cafe, and The Sun Times), and Last Chance Saloon.
The afternoon schedule featured five young performers vying for the 2008 Young & Hungry Discoveries Showcase title. The winners were:
- Tyler Firestone (Wasaga Beach), and
- Driftar (Durham)
Both winners will be awarded a set on the Young & Hungry stage at Summerfolk 2008. In addition, Tyler Firestone will be awarded an opening set for the 2008 Knox Acoustic Cafe concert of his choice (more details to follow).

- Another three youth who were invited could not attend.
The evening schedule (Last Chance Saloon) featured twelve performers vying for the last main stage opening act at Summerfolk 2008.The winner was David Gillis.Other participants included
